Total Healing

Mind. Body. Soul.

Faults are fractures in Earth's crust where rocks on either side of the crack have slid past each other. These cracks can be thin and inconspicuous, with barely noticeable movement between the rock layers. Faults can also be hundreds of miles long- even visible from space. In an instant the shift of these plates can cause destruction, but over time this movement has created beauty beyond compare.

Our wounds can be superficial or deep. Like the cracks on the earth’s surface, our emotional pains indicate movement in one way or another. Our goal at Fault Line Counseling is to offer clients the tools and opportunities to heal. This is a place to bring your struggles, in order to shift your movement in a healthy and healing direction. At FLC we treat the whole person, offering evidenced based clinical interventions that honor your beliefs, values, and needs.

Services We Offer:

Animal Assisted Therapy -AAT helps clients to improve mental, physical, social and emotional functioning with the aid of animals. Nerby, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, is qualified to work with clients in individual, couples, and family therapy settings to enhance their therapeutic experience and assist them in meeting their goals. Jackson, the newest addition to our team, is currently training for his certification.

Substance Abuse or Behavioral Addiction Treatment- Treatment for drug and alcohol abuse or behavioral addiction is intended to help individuals stop compulsive addicted behaviors. FLC utilizes cognitive and behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, and animal assisted therapy to help clients meet their goals. We have experience working with multidisciplinary teams, and are able to consult with physicians, medication providers, and other professionals that you may request we communicate with in order to offer the most effective treatment.

Juvenile Sex Offense Specific Therapy -FLC offers both individual and group therapy for juvenile sex offenders. The purpose of OS treatment is help juveniles who have committed sex offenses accept responsibility for sexually deviant thoughts and behavior, develop an increased level of recognition and focus on details of actual sexual behavior, and recognize the arousal patterns, fantasies, planning, and rationalizations of their sexually deviant thoughts and behavior. Clients who complete OS treatment move forward having demonstrated how to respect boundaries and engage in healthy relationships. The principles of OS treatment can be used to help clients who have not committed criminal offenses, but are aware of unhealthy relational patterns that are detrimental to relationship.

Premarital Therapy -Counseling can be a wonderful way to prepare for a lifetime of partnership. FLC utilizes the Prepare/Enrich inventory, an evidenced based assessment tool, that helps couples to zero in on strengths and areas of growth. From there couples engage in practices and conversations that facilitate growth and intimacy.

Marriage or Couples Counseling -Couples counseling assists partners in all kinds of intimate relationships to strengthen their bonds, gain insight into their issues, and resolve their conflicts. On average, couples come to therapy 7 years too late! Whether you are looking for maintenance for your relationship, have experienced a betrayal or hardship, are navigating a difficult transition, or anything in between, FLC has years of experience to help you improve the health of your partnership. FLC utilized John Gottman’s principals as a guiding framework for marital or couples therapy.

Individual Therapy -no matter what your presenting problem, you will find acceptance and a safe space to grow and change at FLC. Our specialties include anxiety and depression, substance abuse and behavioral addiction, transitional difficulties, relational struggles, and maladaptive sexual behaviors. If you are uncertain if our team can help you, feel free to reach out for a complementary 30 minute consultation to see if we can meet your clinical needs.

Family Therapy -Family therapy can be daunting. Multiple voices, perspectives, and needs -and only one therapist. FLC offers a unique family therapy experience. We incorporate animal assistance to demonstrate relational dynamics, utilize traditional family therapy methods, and also offer restorative justice as a framework to help families address wounds and find healing. Restorative Justice is a process being embraced by many organizations as an alternative to consequences, and allows clients the opportunity to take accountability for their behaviors, explore how they impact others, examine factors that lead to those behaviors, and make meaningful amends. If you have struggled to find effective therapy for your family’s needs, it would be worth your while to give our approach a try.

EMDR -Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) methodology is a form of adaptive information processing which may help the brain unblock maladaptive material. It also appears that EMDR may avoid some of the long and difficult abreactive work often involved in the treatment of anxiety, panic attack, post- traumatic stress symptoms (such as intrusive thoughts, nightmares, and flashbacks), dissociative disorders, depression, phobias, identity crisis and other traumatic experiences.

Spiritual Integration -FLC recognizes that we are spiritual beings made of body, mind, and soul. For many clients, it is important to recognize their beliefs and integrate it into the therapeutic process. FLC clinicians have specialized training in spiritual integration to offer faith based counseling interventions as needed.

Victim’s compensation -FLC works with clients who are eligible for victim’s compensation. If you have been a victim of a crime and are looking to receive therapeutic services, please reach out to see how we can support you.

Clinical Supervision -FLC offers clinical supervision for Marriage and Family Therapist and Addiction Counselor candidates.

Domestic Violence Survivor Services -Clinicians at FLC have additional training in the treatment of victims of domestic violence. If you are a DV survivor looking for therapeutic support, FLC is able to assist you.

Coaching can help a client who feels stuck start to make some movement in their lives, can teach clients to replace unhealthy habits with more helpful ones, reduce confusion, find motivation, and hold yourself accountable. FLC has providers who are not only qualified mental health professionals, but also able to offer coaching services. Coaching can be offered across state borders.
